Message from the Director

Welcome to a new school year! I hope everyone enjoyed the summer months and are renewed. The return of the new year brings a promise of meaningful relationships, expanded opportunities, improved academic growth and a shared learning experience that offers unique challenges and outstanding success.

I want to take this opportunity to emphasize that our focus is not only on what you learn in class, but also about what type of person you will become. The mission of Phoenix Charter High School is Striving for Straight A’s: “Positive Attitude,” “Perfect Attendance,” and “ Peerless Academics.”  We want to develop students that are full of expectations, responsible, creative, and ready to think critically; for knowledge is power for the future. We are working diligently to cultivate the whole child. In the words of our Superintendent, Dr. Johnson, “We are student centered and future focused!” So, let us start the year ready to embrace learning as we prepare to rise to our future.  I challenge you to the task of learning and creating a better you, filled with the drive to succeed at any task placed before you!

Parents, we look forward to working with you because it takes a village to raise a child. We plan to partner with you and establish success in new found relationships along with incorporating you in our learning experience. We are excited about the new webpage which should provide access to your child’s activities in multiple ways. We aim to keep you informed and welcome you on this journey of success during the 2019-2020 school year.

Our goals for 2019-2020:
  • Prepare students for their post-secondary goals.

  • Promote good work ethics.

  • Help foster problem-solving skills.

  • Strengthen interpersonal skills.

  • Educate and develop the student for global success.

The phoenix is a mythical Egyptian bird that lived in the desert for 500 years and consumed itself by fire.  It rose from the ashes, renewed, and we have chosen it to be the symbol of our school because our school renews student’s confidence in their ability to learn.
