In an effort to support our school’s Attendance and Tardiness Campaign, with the help of Attendance Works, we have developed ways to combat chronic absenteeism. Our strategy is to provide proactive ideas and strategies to engage educators, families, and the community to improve student attendance and decrease tardiness. It is extremely important that students are on time and present every day. Research shows that student absences impact a child’s ability to succeed in school. In addition, there is evidence that chronic absenteeism from school is a primary cause of low academic achievement and a powerful predictor of a student’s risk of dropping out of school (Attendance Works).
MES Parents, please help us to help your child/children succeed in school. Success goes hand in hand
with good attendance!!
